hi all sorry have not been on here for a few days but not at all well .cant stop being sick and had a headache for 2 days now and not been to the toilet for a week am swallowing senekot every night not working and fell tried all the time just want to sleep all day do not have the energy for anything just hoping it will pass soon will let you know if or when it passes:wave_cry:thanks carol

Hi Carol,
So sorry to hear you are feeling wretched & glad you have a doctors appt lined up. Have you tried glycerol suppositories? You can buy them cheaply at any chemist, I have used them a couple of times on the odd occasion I've been terribly bunged up, & they worked within about 15 mins....I'm not surprised you are feeling so poorly :hug99:xxx

yes left them in for half an hour that was all i could manage but nothing happend .have now just taken 2 max strength senerkot if that doesnt work nothing will.

God, you are well & truly bunged aren't you? Y'know, I agree with Julie...not sure you should leave it until Monday...does your doctors do emergency appts on Saturday mornings? Do you have a local walk-in clinic you could drop in to tomorrow?

Perhaps your poor little pouchy isnt appreciating all of the senakot, could that be what is making you sick and possibly causing the headache? I realise you want to poop but maybe so much is upsetting the rest of you.

hi thanks but did not know the senakot could make you sick or give me headaches but need to go regularly if i dont cant eat have tried /lactoulos/fybegel/moveral/suppositories/chocolate ex lax/i now it sounds daft put can anyone tell me what to eat so i can try dumping dont no what else to try.thanks

Hi Carol, I echo others here that you really shouldn't wait until Monday to seek medical help as your symptoms indicate quite severe dehydration. I also think you should get medical advice from your team before taking Senokot every night. I'm not sure whether these are suitable for bypass patients. Fybogel is another one to avoid too.

I know I've said it a few times now but I really do advocate drinking prune juice. It's natural and it works!

Carol, I hope you are feeling better. Please try to drink if you can (your body can go without food for a month but cannot last more than a couple of days without water). I ended up at the Homerton A & E with the same symptoms and was severely dehyrated and ended up in the hospital for 3 days so they could put a drip on me. You will stay constipated unless your body gets some water to help push the contents through your body - they will be too dry otherwise. I ended up with an enema in the hospital which shifted it, the drip helped too. Hope you don't have to go through that!

have you tried lactolose syrup to help you go hun i dont think senekot are that good , they have never worked for me, but the syrup does work really well even tho it doenst taste that good tho . hope you feel better real soon hun . there are also a lot of bugs going about so maybe the sickness is a stomach bug or something ..
