omg had my pre op on 18th sept everything was going great then they found i had a heart murmur so now have to w8 for heart scan been over a week already how long now =( :cry:

Hi Audra. Sorry you're having to wait a bit but no one is going to touch you until they have the go ahead from a heart specialist saying that you're good to go. Don't worry, it will still happen but for your safety they need to make sure that you are fit enough to undergo a major operation and all that it entails. I'd had a previous heart attack and had to wait until I had the go ahead which held things up but I know that it was to make sure I didn't have another heart attack on the operating table. It's a relief they found the problem before the op so that there were no surprises when you were under the anesthetic. It will come, annoying though these things are.

I agree you wouldnt want them to be doing it if there is the risk of heart attack so they just want to make sure that you are ok.

I have had 8 heart attacks (finally got my heart bypass) so all go for me I hope

Good luck ladies I didn't have anything a serious as a heartattack I just had the sleep apnoea, which held up my progress, had to wait for sleep test and then had to be using machine for 6 mo nths before hand without problems. You have been through soo much already. xx

well got my app for heart scan 20th oct so hopefully everythings ok with that but now im thinking about sleep test now coz ive read a few ppl having probs with that what do u actually have to do coz ive not had my sleep test yet ?

I really had no major health problems I was just fat,and I was made to do the sleep test.
I know it's tough waiting but it's better to be safe x
