Hi just joined today for hunt for further pre op and post op titbits, do's and dont's etc so anything you feel a 404llb guy needs to know all news and information welcome thanks Steve.

Welcome Steve. I'm relatively new here too but there are many a useful thread and other members are good at answering questions :) I presume from your posting that funding is approved and you are just waiting on a surgery date now?

Hi & Welcome, Steve :) Just read as many posts as possible & you will soon have a good knowledge of what you are going to experience. We are all different & the PLC you are in is a big factor in actually getting the op. I assume you have been given the go ahead so this is the first hurdle cleared. Ask specific questions & there will always be someone to answer you & put your mind at rest. Good Luck & long patience, lol xxx :D

Hi Steve I am post bypass had mine done August 2011 from the very start I have lost 10 1/2 stone well worth the journey, can be long and gruelling to get to the op but the op reall isnt as bad as you might think, if you have no probs at all then recovery is very quick, laprosopically. Takes a bit of getting your head round new way of eating and pureeing food and then different stages but well worth it. Lots of nice people on here to chat with who are at same stage as you. Check out Fatandnotsohappy, Mr97, if you look at the thread Coffee and chat weightloss meet in Darlington they are both on there plus Joe but can't remember what his other name is. Good luck with your journey it will be amazing. One big thing to remember, Keep your start weight and pictures and keep checking them along the journey its great to see how much you will have changed and it will spur you on. Get use to walking alot if you don't already its one of the best forms of exercise, and you will be able to continue after the op. xx
