Mine havent changed at all still regular as clock work no change in the flow if anything they are lighter and I have never suffered with any pain from my monthlys and I dont get moody lol Guess Im the lucky one

You are very lucky, I am one lady not to be messed with for a couple of days beforehand!

hi mine changed for about the first 4 months after my bypass they were very painfull lasted for ever and were heavy too but then they went back too normal i hope yours do too theres nothing worse than a week off hell x x sarah

So far my periods are just as hideous as before the op. I am hoping that they will get better as time goes on.

im like teen shorter and lighter.(although i did have a heavy one last month but nothing to write home about this month) I still take 1000mg of EPO a day and have done for the past 8 years for PMT darnt come off it as i dont want to go back to how i used to be.

The first few post op were less pmt & lighter. But the last 2 or so have been murder, big cramps, longer flow and general yuckiness! I'm wondering if my hormones are try to catch up with my weightloss. Have almost taken to my bed during this monthly .

Exactly the same as me Nic :cry:My boobs have been really tender too, I even wore my post op bra to bed.

Heya

Was just wondering if any of you had considered having the merina coil fitted.
I suffered chronically with my monthlies from a very young age. When I was diagnosed with a clotting disorder in 2002 I was told I would be unable to take the pill again and looked into other types of contraception.

I decided on the merina coil as in most cases it stops any blood loss each month and also eliminates abdominal cramps. I have never looked back.

I had my first one fitted in 2002 and it had to be renewed after 5 yrs so a couple of years ago had a new one fitted. I never had a period with the first coil, the second one I occasionally get light bleeding with but no period cramps.

I do still end up having to take to my bed around that time of my cycle though but that is down to flaring of other health conditions I have.
