I booked my surgery today with WLS for a bypass on 8th July in Sheffield!

I'm having my bypass done at Thornbury Hospital in Sheffield by Dr. Ackroyd on the 30th June.

hello,

would the people who are having a gastric band mind telling me if the band is perminent or if they will be having it removed when they reach their goal weight. Im in cambridge, if you dont mind could I ask if your attending Adden, then I will know their policy. I was offered surgery a while ago but refused, now think its the only way forward.

Hi Kim I was under Addenbrookes obesity clinic but was told they don't do the surgery so if I get funding for bypass I will need to travel to UCHL or Luton and Dunstable. Good luck

Aww sorry to hear that hunMine was cancelled from 18th June, and is now on 10th July, but I had to wait a while to find out the new date

I already have the 3rd of August as a date but being the worry wart that I am I just constantly worry that the date could get postponed or something (this is due to my past dealings with having surgery in the NHS, I had my gallbladder out a few years ago and was cancelled twice due to there being no beds in the hospital). Anyway I need to stop banging on and be a bit more optimistic!

Well, scrap all that, lol!

About 10 minutes after typing this & booking hotel accommodation, WLSG told me there had been a change in plans!

I am now having my banding done by Roger Ackroyd in Sheffield on Wednesday 22nd July!
FIngers crossed there are no more changes 'cos it's shaken me a bit tbh!

Yup - just had the call - mine is under Surgicare but at the Spire in Manchester (Whalley Range).

Got my date, the opp is on 19th August at leeds nuffield for a gastric sleeve. got to go in day befor tho !
