pj's or nighty ?

may seem like a silly question but i would feel like a idiot asking the doctor but while your in hospital would u ladies recommend pj's or a nighty? lol
i just fancied getting some nice new pj's then some one put the idea in my head that a nighty would be easier

i always wear a nightie with jamie bottoms, so i just took them in with me, and i wore them, they were no problem at all

I got some lovely pj's from Peacocks to take into hospital & they have a really soft waistband, not elastic but hard to describe. I hate nighties cos I always end up with them round my waist when I in bed. I also had nightmares of waking up in the hospital bed & finding my big fat ar*e hanging out the bed, ha, ha!!

I always have nighties lol.........I cant wear pj's to bed as I feel like they get all twisted round my legs....I guess we are all different so as long as they have a soft waistband Id say whatever you prefer X

pjs but as suggested not elastic waist as you dont want any pressure on your wounds

i took both into hosp but only wore pyjamas just make sure they are plenty big enough so they dont put pressure on your wounds and remember that you swell a bit as well

Depends if you are catheterised and how long for. You have a gown issued for theatre and they usually catheterise you in theatre. I took both; nightie for the first change after theatre (for when catheter was still in situ) and then PJs.

Thats a really good point and thats why i took nighties but in the end i just stayed in the hosp gown until they took the caffeter out ! lol xx

i love pjs but i need to keep my lower back as warm as i can, and the tops on pjs arnt long enough, so i wear nighties with pj bottoms, the t shirt type nighties i mean. and the wounds are higher up than the waistband so there wasnt a problem.

I've been wondering about this... I'll probably settle for a nightie (with co-ordinating knickers) haha..

I love flanellette pj's... but I get so warm, I would prefer to add a layer than be too hot in hospital...

It'll have to be a nightie for me.... but I'm a kid at heart and always love my pj's at home... warmed in front of my coal fire!

I would deffinatly say pjs, thats what i took. When the doctor/surgeon/nurse/whoever wants to check on your stomach wounds your only lifting your top and not your whole nightie. xxxxx

That is a good point Em...I think I'll do what Dawn does and wear a nightie and pj bottoms... to be doubly sure no one can get a glimpse of my hippapotabot... xxx

The only time my wounds were checked was when i showered.

I also opted for the nighty, so comfy...

I had to have a cathater from the Friday night till the Sunday morning, alot easier if you are wearing a nighty..

i think the nightie/pj bottoms covers both angles bev, and i wasnt catheterized, so it wasnt a problem. hippabotabot, lol, i like it. im sure its not as bad as u think babes, but pj bottoms definately helps in the modesty dept.

im quite shy about mine, but with having the 4 girls, and several ops, i now leave my dignity at the door of the hospital, and pick it up on my way out. but obviously i stay as modest as i can.
