hi all,

got no idea if i am having the right amount of fluid? im drinking slowly, ie 50-80mls in 20 mins. but on swollowing im getting pain in my breast bone area. is this wind? fliuds passing through? a sign i'm full?

I think you could be taking too much in at once.If you can't keep track of how much you are having put a 2 litre bottle of water in your fridge and just have it from that bottle. That way you'll know how much you're having. The pain in the chest is something I get if I eat or drink too quickly. I know you said you are sipping but when we're used to guzzling it does only seem like a little sip. Try even smaller sips and see if that helps. Good luck Julia and I'm sure one of the experts will be along soon to give you more advice sweetheartxx

thanks gaynor, i had a sneaky feeling i might be taking it too quickly but it gets cold other wise lol

i could drink a whole cup of tea post op slowly no problem i think it could still be trapped wind and make sure your drinking on an empty tummy as the fluid should slide straight thru pain could also be from your swelling still just drink slowly and you should be fine

ok thanks hun, i can only manage about a third of a cup before i get the pains so could be wind too
