Protein

deepblue

New Member
Been told to up my Protein intake and was wondering if anyone can sugest a way of doing it that wont cost the bank I still cant eat nearly enough food to do it that way.

Deepblue i did it with protein shakes. I brought one i think Mixxy recommended, low carb high protein as i can't eat enough protein yet!

Cost me just under £18 for 900 odd grammes, one scoop makes one shake...

Do you want the link?

If you could give me the link that would be great

Here is the link, sorry for the delay. Just checked the tub and it has 30 servings in. Which i think if you decide that by the cost equals about 60p a shake. Knowing the cost of a slimfast (ready made drink) i think this is excellent and the protein/carb/cals is excellent....

Dymatize Elite Whey Protein (908g)

I've got toffee and banana flavours...........

Thanks Julie I am going to try the Cafe Mocha one

my hospital advises instead of shakes buy marvel milkpowder and add this to a glass of milk or in gravy or add to cooking this adds protein x

Yes you can use dried milk and add it to other drinks to increase your protein intake, some people call it 'double milk'... I've not tried it but may do as i have a tin in the cupboard, but my shakes are so low in carb which is why i like them :)

my provider recomends 3 tablespoons of dried milk in a third of a pint of milk its ok in tea coffee etc and cheap

Julie how do they taste?

TB i've not used my dried milk yet! I will probably do it with my milky coffee in the evenings, but i love my protein shakes also, they feel like you've had a treat without being naughty!

Would you like me to bring you a sample Monday? I can put a scoop of banana and a scoop of toffee in a sandwich bag and you can try before you buy? xx

Yes please if you don't mind. I would hate to spend that money and then found I could not take the taste. Also means I will have to try out the new blender that has been sitting in my hallway for the last 6 months unopened:rolleyes:.

Okay, i'll do my best to remember it. Always a good idea to try before you buy i think!

Am just thinking i might try later with a double and put the dried milk in my protein shake and see how it is...

silly question just had op two day ago should i buy some protein shake and if so do i get the one for diet cause they are loads of different one for body building and sport training oh god theres one for body tone and recover and repair and loads off crap getting confused

Kerry with a band you shouldn't need them, as you can get all your protein needs from your diet.
