I was a day case, so cannot comment.

I was up and dressed to go home fours hours after op, had to wait til 7.30pm before they discharged me.

This post has been very useful going to take a mix of both but i now think that i will take some thin nighties the one with the spaghetti straps and then some shorts and lose vest top sets as i get very hot in the night and that is at home without heating god knows what i will be like in hospital.
Evans and simply be both do some nice sets of shorts and vest top pjy`s nice and cool ones so i can still be covered up when they come to inspect :) and even if i am wearing a nighty can have shorts underneath to protect my modesty :) lol

Hi Pinkdaisy,

I ve just had my gastric band at Preston, all I took was a nightshirt and shorts and t shirt....got to say after recovery I sat in the chair with my comfy shorts and t shirt on, because it was quite warm. There is a ceiling fan in the rooms at FTH so i was quite comfortable. I didnt sleep in my nightie as I would have been too warm (plastic sheets on the bed and quilts are in protective plastic too, with a cotton cover!) You will be fine. I travelled home in joggers and a t shirt too. A dressing gown was provided but I didnt need it, the gown and pants covered everything, thank god lol. Anything you need to know, please feel free to ask x

nightie and a sarong, so you can scootch into bed and not worry about having your legs out, and my sarong was much softer than their nasty crispy sheets
don't forget ear plugs!!!

Hi Pink Daisy
I took both but only wore the nighties cause of the heat took a light weight house coat and just put it on when i went for a wee stroll about the ward. I was in my own nightwear within a few hours of op. Home now and wearing pjs bigger size and no prob with wounds, xx

I haven't had my WLS yet but when I had my gall bladder out I wore pajamas with a kimono wrap style top. I liked it because it allowed me to stay covered up. My op was in July and I do remember being quite warm though.

I think when (hopefully) I have mine I might take a mix of nighties and pjs. When I had my gall bladder removed I just took pjs. When I was catheterised I was still in the hospital gown and by the time they helped me change that was all removed.

You have your own room with ensuite bathroom at FTH in Preston, so no need to be walking around the ward Pink! ;)

fantastic susie do u have an msn or yahoo chat account? msn messenger? wud love to talk about ur experience at FTH! X
