As I have only researched Band and Bypassas orignaly thats all my Hosp offered. Is the sleeve and wrap the same?? Got some more reading to do. x

Never mind I Googled (lol) and yes its the same if anyone else wanted to know.

I thought the wrap involved sort of having your stomach folded over itself (gastric plication), not currently available in the UK, and the sleeve was the physical removal of about 3/4 of your stomach? Could be wrong, sure others will know xx

Ohhhh right just when I googled "sleeve" it came up as sleeve/wrap so I just thought that meant the same thing!!! will have to do some more investigating thanks for the info. xx

Hi Wibble, the gastric plication is available in the UK - under Prof Ammori in Manchester, where I had mine done. I also believe there is a London based surgeon who performs this op too. it's still a pretty new procedure in the UK and more expensive than going abroad but gaining momentum! And yes you are right, it is the folding in on itself of the stomach and stitching, so provides restriction like the band but with no foreign bodies! x
