So am 3 weeks post op now and since op have lost 25lb, with a 1lb gain last week :( At the moment am wondering if I will ever see the 20s let alone 12s and 11s :(

Any of you who started at the upper end feel this way? And how long did it take you to lose your weight?

You'll loose again this week Yvessa just you wait n see, get the protein n water in and extra walking n you'llbe laughing. xx

25lb in three weeks, Yve  I didn't lose that in 6 weeks but since October I am now in sniffing distance of goal :) It will happen, honey cos it seems you may be one of the fast losers :D xxx

I guess i'm just worried that 25 lb is it. As I always have good losses the first two weeks of a diet and then it all goes to hell.

But this is not just a diet, lovely :) Your body cannot absorb the calories the way it did & you certainly can't eat the volumes you did previously :) Time is the only thing that will convince you that it is going to happen ... chin up, darlin xxx

You're doing really well :)
I had a few stalls between 4 and 8 weeks post-op. Thought I'd never get it moving again. But it happened. I lost 35lb pre-op, and was on the chopping board at about 29st 8lb.
I'm 5.5 months post-op and I'm now 23st 3lb. It comes in fits and starts. 27st seemed to last forever :grumble: :D
I think you might be less focused on it when you can eat more 'normally' and as you become more mobile.

I am day 9 post op and lost 1kg.... I am so disappointed and disheartened ..

Don't be Heather ... I came out of hospital heavier than when I went in & took 2 weeks to lose anything at all  It is a common theme on here & it seems to be your body going into shock & it is it's way of healing itself, fluid retention etc. You what it come off over the next few weeks xxx :)

Yvessa that's brilliant weight loss, I'm 2weeks post op and have only lost 8lbs so well done you xx

Hi

Don't panic too much, weightloss is a very fickle thing, some people loose huge amounts very quickly and others it just drips off, the main thing is that it does come off, as long as you are not trying to cheat the system it does work even if it takes longer than you and I hoped it would, I am now about 10 weeks post op and have lost 17kg, but most of that was in the first 4 weeks, I am now doing about .5kg per week now so I know it will be quite a while before I reach goal weight but I know I will get there eventually, I could never say that about any diet, because I just knew I would fail eventually because I always did.

Be patient, you will get there in the end.

Paul

Looks like you are doing really well, I am 2 weeks post op and scared about weighing myself in case I am disappointed although I know I must have lost some as clothes getting loose!

Remember everyone is different. We all have our own issues with the weightloss. I only loose one week a month now at 5 months post op, and eveytime I get disappointed an think is this it, but then the next batch comes off:)

Has as been well documented (lol!!!) I have not been happy with my weight loss.

I would like to lose a bit more than I have been. But I will just have to accept I don't :(

Using the wii, walking, swimming and doing other exercises now. If this don't help it along, nothing will lol

You're all doing brilliantly :)
Just can't wait 'til I can join in talking about my losses.
Em xxxx

I'm 16 days post op was size 32 prior to liver reduction diet and not in too much of a rush to weigh myself yet. Went into tesco yesterday and they had summer clothes reduced in range that goes up to size 28, bought a dress with the intention that it will fit in a month or so. Tried it on and it already fits am v happy!

At the beginning I thought the bypass hadn't worked for me,as I've been a slow steady looser, but it's all added up to 9 stone lost.
I did have weeks where I didn't loose too x

lol Thanks everyone. Just spoke to an l and d dietician who told me to stop worrying cos I was doing everything right. And 800 cals at this stages is fantastic. So am very pleased now and feel better.
