RnY and Antibiotics

I have been prescribed two types of antibiotics, Amoxicillin and Clindamycin. I phoned to check with a bariatric nurse that these would be Ok and she warned me that sickness and diarrhoea are a common side effect of Clindamycin.

Has anyone post Rny taken these and had a problem?

I don't know Perissa, as I am pre-op RNY. I have been on Penicillin V for a few days and I have, um, been 'moving lots of mail' in the bathroom. Lord knows what it's like post-op.

I'm now allergic to penecillin since the bypass, so just keep an eye on yourself as how you tolerate things does change quite a lot!

I had Amoxicillin pre op and that made my lady garden itch like mad lol never taking it again. Not had the other one you mentioned so can not help there

i was on 2 very strong antibiotics whist in hospital and yup you would be advised to have a toilet nearby just in case as it is a common side effect even before the WLS

I have taken one dose so far and no ill effects ....... yet!!!

Next dose due at 9pm......

I've had Amoxicillin for a toe infection i had a while back and had no problems, and unlike Teen my garden didn't itch either.
