If you have it do you have it every night.
Is it like your throat tightening ?
I cant sleep with more than one pillow as i feel like a cant breath even the thought of it now makes my throat tighten
xx

I had it before surgery, I never felt a tightness in my throat but would wake up with like a snort type gasp to try and get more air in. Each morning I would wake with a sickly headache which nothing would shift, was constantly tired due to sleep being broken to do the gasp thingy and felt emotional and drained....have to say it has almost gone now, I never wake in the night not even for the loo, have not had any headaches (touch wood) and I was plagued with them daily before...I am sure the sypmtoms will vary on mine but its such a relief to see the back of it...xx

I have sleep apnoea and use a CPAP machine to aid my nightly rest. Before that I used to wake up choking during the night. Aches and pains in my muscles and joints and frequent urination were other symptoms. Not to mention the hideous falling asleep all over the place - even in meetings with people looking.:eek::eek:

I can't sleep on my back or I'd drown in boobs. Although I think that would be the death of choice for my bloke!

My sleep apnea, although only mild obstructive, has improved by about 95% since the op two months ago...a blessing for me...xx

Like Charliegirl i had sleep apnea pre op and its pretty much gone now, i dont even dribble at night either, used to wake up with a wet pillow and slug trails down my chin where i'd dribbled so badly in the night :8855:nowdays i sleep like the dead, dont wake up, never need to pee and dont wake up with a headache any more.

Silversurfer did you have acid reflux/indigestion pre-op? The reason I ask is because I read an article about excessive drooling during sleep & they linked it to acid reflux & GERD. It said something to do with swelling in your throat and decreased swallowing while sleeping leading to saliva build-up in the mouth = big drooling. Just curious but glad you don't have a soggy pillow anymore!

No i didn't have acid reflux, i used to wake up with a feeling like i'd been chewing an arabs flip flop all night and a soaked pillow, in fact i used to wake up and turn it over in the night as it was so wet ! :D
