I did Sleep Apnea linked with hypertension in men with a collar size of 19 and over for my degree thesis. I carried out my studies at North Staffordshire Hospital and worked with the patients on the sleep clinic there - i did find that there is a link with collar size/hypertension and sleep apnea. It has also been proven in further and more recent studies that obese people with a BMI over 34 are more suseptible to having sleep apnea symptoms and being diagnoised with it. Once an obese patient starts to lose weight it has been seen that they will no longer suffer from sleep apnea. So the answer to the question is - yes once you start to lose your weight and bring down your BMI to below 33 you will notice a huge difference and you will feel less tired and have more energy.
