I love salt & vinegar crisps, but obviously shouldnt have them.

So i got some S&V snack a jacks today, and oh they were yummy!!!!

And yes i can have them, im on soft, mushy, and crispy stage!

Glad your enjoying them, hate salt & vinegar myself but love cheese and chive flavoured ones.

When I have my bypass not allowed anything with texture week 5-6.

yum yum!! lol

pinky - yeah i think the time scales for different stages of the post op diet vary from hospital to hospital. But you'll get there xx

never knew there was a soft mushy and crispy stage new one on me.

hc

Thats my stage 3

Stage 1 clear fluids

stage 2 low calorie liquids/smooth pureed diet

Stage 3 Soft and Mushy/ crispy foods
(crispy is defined as food that will fall to bits in water - melba toast, crisp breads, bread sticks etc not crunchy foods like raw veg and salad)

Stage 4 Regular gastric bypass diet

What stages did u do?

2 weeks fluids
2 weeks pureed
2 weeks mushy
then gradually introduce regular food, fruits and veg being ahead of crispbreads, toast etc

amaising the variations we all have. but important that we go by our surgeons rules.
I couldnt of imagined having snack a jacks 19 days post op far too dry. Glad you enjoyed them. my snack treat is mini twiglets with philli light.

fed up glad you are so much better and able to enjoy what you are eating now great news.
Certainly is interesting all the variations on the food introduction regimes
Will be interested to see what mines will be when I have my by pass
Nice to know you can eat things like snack a jacks and twiglets yum xx

hi i had my gastric bypass on the 11 april 2009 i am three weeks post op on pureed food and finding it quite hard food just doesnt taste the same anymore just wondering if you have any good food recipes etc for me i would be so grateful maz

Red one of the ways i found helpful (and still do) was whenever i had left over veg especially root veg's was to freeze it in portions. That way when ever i was in a rush i could grab a tub out of the freezer and stick it in the microwave to heat whilst i either grated some cheese or made some gravy.
Also if out and i need something to eat i tend to get a packet of ready to eat prawns and some prepared fruit.
It's helped me keeps clear of the refined carbs.
