So in my booklet for sunderland it only says about the band, bypass, balloon nothing about the sleeve, does it do it there? im sure ive seen it does but im wondering x

Hi Kelly, to be honest I don't know, I have only ever heard the sleeve mentioned on this site. Hopefully one of the girls or guys will be in touch and will let you know if different!

noooooo!! ha defiantly not, ive been wobbling over the band like everyone knows, and ive been doing research over last two weeks and i really think the sleeve is for me! its permanat no trips back up to sunderland for infills ( i have to travel up to 5hrs) for somereason i got it into my head bypass/band...... didnt think twice about sleeve as not many peeps have them or mention them hey i really hope they say yes, they should do given my weight etc im ringing dietacian tomorrow, but nothings set in stone till your on waiting list hey, and that wont happen for me till oct (hopefully) xx ooooo i do rock things abit hey i dont mean to :wave_cry:

Good for you....you need to go for what you feel is best for you. I always wanted the bypass but thought I would have to fight for it, thinking they would offer me the band. They were right with me whebn I suggested the bypass Good luck with it X

yes we do sleeves, mr balupuri wants me to convert to a sleeve but personally i prefere a bypass, sorry ive just picked this thread up as ive been out most of the day, a sleeve is a great restrictive procedure and they will consider this option for you Kelly x

i know liz i actually feel a big weight of my shoulders, can you believe that, i think i knew deep down the band wasnt right.....pheeeeew ill sit back now till october and hopefully mr small will agree, he should do.... thanks ooo i wonder why they want you to do a sleeve?..... did they say why?... x

yer its because its a restrictive procedure just like the band and ive lived with restriction for well over 5 years now and this is why he says it wil be best for me i disagree tho, where as the bypass you malabsorb as well as being restricted, i want the bypass and they have agreed x

Good on you Kelly, well done. I'm pleased you've gone for this decision,; I knew you weren't happy with the band really.

Funnily enough the pre-op nurse mentioned the sleeve today so I know they do it at Sunderland.

ooo i know charis i spoke to the dietacian and she s forwarding a letter to mr balupuri and mr small.... so its in my notes ready for oct, i have to realistic i travel a long long way to get there, and the up keep of bands etc would be a nightmare ( tho i have to say i would do) feels good when you know you ve made the right choice x

Do you mean what surgery Kelly?

I'm having the by-pass.

But travelling up for the post-op appointments won't be too bad. We do have family and friends in Sunderland and it's not that long a journey.

cool, ive just spoke to my sister and she said she'll take me hopefully! ill just have to take my boys with! eeek but she said she'd take them for a walk, while i go in so fingers crossed she can... then my beautiful hubbi will be back and so he ll take me xx
