Surgery referral

Hello, been referred to Wishaw General Hospital for weight loss surgery by my GP to a Dr. Kaseem. I wonder if anyone has been seen by this surgeon, and could share their experience. Bit stressed about it, and would appreciate anyones input. My GP says he likes to do gastric balloon surgery first to make you loose weight before he goes ahead with gastric banding, although I was hoping for Gastric Bypass. Can anyone advise?
