Tastes

I have been fancying lambs liver, i finally got a couple of small slices yesterday and braised/poached them in water with onions, was soo looking forward to them, what a disappointment was cooked lovely the onions were delish but the liver was stringy and i only ate half, next doors dog enjoyed it though.

my taste changes all the time one day i will have something the next it will make me rench, i got some fish from asda the one were you get a sesoning and bread crubs if you like and you can zap it or oven cook it, well i got a white fish enough for me and 1 nob of low fat butter and garlic no bread crumbs i got come salad and sauce to go with the fish couldnt wait to cook it in the oven it looked lovely smelt lovely one mouthfull in i renched and the rest went in the bin. one lady posted on here about our tastes and the food we eat and something she put i really agreed with her she said i think most people after gastric surgery because of the small amount of food they can eat after each sitting we all become FOOD SNOBS, which i find so true. xxx

My friend was saying something similar to me yesterday. She said maybe being able to eat so little, means you will want the best of what you can have. I think thats true. Not sure if it will always be true. But it is for now :)

Agree with this. Just been talking to a friend & saying that I'm going to a Michelin star restaurant & going to have a tiny meal of the best best cooking I can get. I know I will only be able to eat a tiny bit but I'm going to have the most exquisite meal I can get.
Think I'm a few months away from this yet though. LOL

It's good to have a goal though :D

Yep it is. Just been out to 'lunch' at local gastro pub. They usually always have. Nice soup but today coz I had to have it , it was parsnip & coconut milk soup?!? My heart sank. Never ever heard of this before but had it anyway. It was OK but only managed about 6 spoonfuls.
Love getting out socialising now.

The first time my daughter took me to Nandos few weeks back all i had was apiece of chicken which she had a afree voucher for she had a proper meal an di had that, i have been out a few times and you can always find something you can have, at the italian bistro the other night i had grilled chicken with salad was lovely. Have been out a lot lately but eating sensibly and loading with the water. xx

I had lunch in a pub yesterday. It was puréed broccoli and cheddar soup. Yummy!

Not keen on the thought of yours bd lol

Never been to Nandos Chrisa. Was it nice?

Yes Nandos was lovely everything was cooked fresh and you can see them doing it. I have also ben to Chiquittos we had a sizzle plate i only managed 1 wrap and the meat with some of the veg. A friend from school picked 2 of us up on WED and we went to a little cafe/restaurant and we had hot beef sandwich and chips. Chips were oven chips of which i had 5 the bun i had 1 little bite I managed some of the beef, and brought home the main part of the bun with most of the beef in it which my hubby ate it was delish just couldn't manage it. I am getting very good at stopping eating before i get too full. xx Me n my pouch have formed abond if i'm good to it it will behave for me, we are getting on very well at the moment long may it continue. xx

Thanks Chrisa xxx

And you and your pouch sound like an awesome team :D

Eeeek! Out again tonight at another eatery with friends. This time the soup was Celery & Stilton. Are these weird soups just following me around or what? LOL

Sounds like it!! Can't say the sound of that has my saliva glands going lol

Last night Italian restaurant - minestrone. Rated like dishwater. Was very disappointed.
Struggling with eating today. Not feeling very well. Boo hoo!

Hope you feel better soon.

If I never see soup again it will be too soon. I'm going to get a bit steak tomorrow and do it in the slow cooker until it melts then mush it up with tatties & gravy.

I've discovered Carrs melts - bad move they go down too easily and are especially yummy as do quavers. I'll need to keep them for a special treat.

Thx. Due to go on purée on Friday but terrified. I have booked to attend my support group tomorrow night if I feel better.

Good luck with purée. If you are scared just take it gently. Slightly thicken up liquids day by day. Hope you manage to get to your support group xxx

Thx guys. Definitely feel better this morning but still don't want to eat. Frightened I am not getting enough protein as I don't eat meat. Find milk difficult too. Hummus now off the agenda since this week's disaster. Will try to purée some fish ( yuck) & lightly scrambled egg next week. All of it making me want to throw up just at the thought of it.
Guess I am feeling pretty low at the moment. Very unlike me.
I will shake myself out of it I'm sure.
Guys have a great day today & in the nicest possible way - all carrying on being 'loosers'! X

I find pureed food so wrong. The texture, everything about it just makes me bleurgh. I know it's only a small part of the journey and I will grin and bear it but I'll be glad when I'm given the go ahead to move onto more solid food.
Never got my steak will get it later and do it tomorrow.
