Probably a stupid question but does the surgeon refer you for all the tests eg sleep apnea bloods etc ?or do i have to get doctor to start these
I'm sure i read something on here that you may lose out if they're not done and can't expect surgeon to refer them !

hi angie, when i was told i had to have tests the hospital sent referals off. however if you dont hear nothing in couple of weeks ring your surgeons secretary and ask them, no harm asking i say. gl xx

Hi, I'm in Coventry and saw my consultant last week for the first time. He has given me a form to get my bloods done 2 weeks before I see him next in January, he was also going to send me for sleep apnoea tests but i already have an appointment in a couple of weeks, I'd asked my GP previously. I have also had a phsyc appointment through the post this morning which I presume has come through the consultant. So in my case the answers was yes the consultant does it. x

hi angie as I remember you are like me having it done at fylde coast hospital so all your tests will be done on the 4 hour appointment they send you ( mine was in july and I am having my op tomorrow morning ) They will decide then whether you need to go for sleep tests or not - i did not need them - if you do they will arrange it. good luck on your journey

i think it's further off than i thought a couple of weeks ago when i got my funding agreement letter , but everyday is a day nearer i'll look forward to seeing your recovery and loss meter go down x

I got my funding letter at the beginning of july, then my clinic appointment 18 july then a week later 25 july letter telling me was booked in for op on 26 sept, so once it starts moving it is quite fast. xx

lol angie you will be moving soon i'm sure. When I went there was about 9 other people there, we watched a video about the ops then went in turns to see nurse, dietician, bloods, surgeon etc the say up to 5 hours I was there from 8.45 until 2.30 tho so be prepared. you can have unlimited drinks but there is nothing to eat lol getting us ready perhaps xx

well if the pct has sent the referral part of the letter to my doctor it will help Grr three times they've supposed to send it.... so Blackpool don't even know i've chosen them yet ...
