I can't eat or drink hardly anything at the moment without feeling sick and bloated, and have been saved by the insides of a jacket spud with a little gravy!! Omg when you haven't eaten for days it's heaven!!

Hi

I had a bypass just over three weeks ago and have since developed this milk intolerance, feel much better on the days I don't have it, but it's effecting my cals and protein.
Today only 309 cals and 13 g of protein and I had three meals, well 4 in fact! Tiny amount of porridge, flesh of a baked potatoe and 2 very small helpings of chicken stew mashed down.
Going to try some more soya milk tomorrow.

You could give rice milk a try, I drank it on my milk/yogurt diet because I don't like normal milk or soya milk.
I'm 5 weeks out now and there's still lots of stuff I can't eat, I thnk we just need to give ourselves more time to recover.
I've discovered that homemade soup goes down very nicely and I can manage a decent sized bowl of it, obviously nothing like my portion size pre-op but enough to leave me feeling like I've had a good meal for ages after and that's with no bread too!
Good luck, I'm sure you'll feel loads better in a few weeks.

I looked at almond, hazelnut and rice milk and none if them seemed to be high in protein so I didn't think it seemed worth it?
