Hello everyone!

I had gastric band surgery on Friday in Belgium. Everything went absolutely fine. I'm now back home but suffering from a lot of pain. It's not coming from the wounds. It feels like TRAPPED WIND!! I'm find it hard to breath and I have shoulder pain. Has anyone else experienced this?? Help

Agreed ... this is what you need to be doing ... move as much as you can & Windease capsules also work. You will soon feel better, hon xx :wave_cry:

Hi steph, its really normal to feel like that. I had really bad pains all over my stomach, t really freaked me out to be honest and I still had pains 6 weeks or so after op but it's normal. I also had my op done in belgium on 2 Nov 2011...who was your surgeon?

Hi Steph and Patricia, I also had a band fitted last week in Belgium my surgeon was Marc Focquet. I have also got lots of shoulder pain and pain like trapped wind in the middle of my breast plate. It hurts when I swallow / when liquids pass to my stomach! Urgh! But hey I'm losing weight! :-/ Hope you're feeling better Steph!

Invest in some chewable windeze - it does wonders

its definately trapped wind hun, you get shoulder pain as they move your liver so gas gets trapped at the top... it can take a couple of days to go.. mine was just bad for a day... you need to walk around a lot and it will go...its does feel like you will be like it for ever... but it will go hun xx

No Patricia, it says in my surgical notes that they left it empty. Did you follow his diet that from week 2 you should try puree's and if that is tolerated move on to steamed foods? I don't seem to be having any problems with any foods and I don't feel overly full after eating either, although I'm not over doing it at the moment. I am just coming up to week 3 in a couple of days. I haven't got a fill booked either, I'm trying to get on an NHS programme of aftercare now. My doctor has sent a refferral to a local gastric specialist to have care from him from now on.
