Well tomorrow is my second visit to see the plastic surgeon for my NHS tummy tuck....very excited. Ill keep you all informed on how i get on. Wish me luck! xxx

Good luck. My first one was cancelled so is at the end of May now. Are you brave enough to post a pre- tt photo so those of us going for consultations can compare? Also, are you just asking for tummy or pubis as well. I'm well baggy in the enitre lady garden department- more like a lady hanging basket lol !

Hi hun, im getting a full tummy tuck only. There are pics in my album to compare the changing shape of my tummy. Will have to get some more recent pics as think it may have changed again.....more droopy and crinkles lol. This is my second visit as already seen ps in Jan so this is just to talk about the op in full i believe. Will let you know in full details tomorrow xxx

Just had a look and realised I had looked before lol ! My skin is a lot more wrinkly than yours. At least you're lovely and smooth. You have done really well and look brilliant xx

Thank you hun. Although since then ive lost another stone so bottom half has a lot more wrinkles now lol. Looks almost elephant like lol. Well hopefully wont be much longer now till i can get it fixed as been fighting 5 years for this. Eeeek lets hope i will finally get some answers xxx

Right guys and gals. Had my second visit with ps and all very well. The surgeon was very pleased with my progress and has put me on his waiting list with is up to 12 weeks. :D The surgeon had another good luck and stretch of my tummy and said i need full muscle repair too. He then told me i had full funding and the op could go ahead as planned. To my surprise he then sent me off for my pre op assessment so had pics taken, full medical history and blood work done plus swabs then sent on my way after 4 hours. Now its just a waiting game to when the op will be. I was told i would receive a letter through the post giving me 3 weeks notice till the op. Really excited now as this is the final piece of the jigsaw! If anyone wants anymore info or help please let me know and id be happy to help or go over more details! x

Just called his secretary and she told me next dates will be in july now unless there is a cancellation. So looks like mid to back end July all being well :D x

That's really good hun :) Congratulations :) Not long at all :) xx

That's brilliant news TS. Not long to wait at all. Sounds like you're going to get a thorough going over with the muscle repair as well :). Still might as well get it all over and done with in one hit.

Impressed as well with all the pre-op stuff. That will save messing about later on too. All in all sounds like one successful appointment to me. :)

I was told that plastic surgery for excess skin was not available via NHS or could it be certain pct's have different criteria?

Hi kjb - its really the luck of the draw. No funding whatsoever for any type of procedure in Highland unless its reconstruction following an accident or cancer etc. It's incredibly frustrating to meet all the criteria and then be knocked back.

10 years ago I was badly burned in the stomach area, obviously have the scars left, the burns specialist said if ever I lost my weight & wanted him to excise the scared area he would,I was thinking if everything goes to plan about approaching him,but then I thought am I being vein or selfish, who apart from my wife will ever see my excess skin

Unfortunatly its a postcode lottery which is pretty sad :(. Leeds PCT criteria is for exceptional circumstances only following a BMI under 30 for 12 months plus a hanging pouch of skin lower then the pubis and health related conditions which i unfortunately fit for all. If it was for vanity reasons alone there would be no way id get it but due to the fact i get infections and very painful rashes it needs to come off :(. I feel very lucky to be accepted for this op and i know it will make a huge difference to my life. I have no confidence and the hanging stomach of an 80 year old woman....yet im only 28 :( x

That's not been vain or selfish. You should get in touch with the burns specialist again and see what he says. Nothing to lose by asking. Well done on losing the weight and good luck :)
