Has anyone else had their appointments/surgery at UCLH? How did you find it? Were the staff friendly? Was the place clean? Any info would be great x

Hi I am hoping to go there if I ever get my funding through. Newbie and Markelsie both went to uchl. They said it is a great place with very helpful and supportive staff. Good luck with your journey.

I had my sleeve gastrectomy at UCH London with Mr Fiennes in March this year. He is a fantastic surgeon and a lovely man. The hospital is very clean, the ward was cleaned 3x a day and they also brought up sterile gowns to change into 3x a day. It's a new hospital building and for the NHS , a very comfortable one. I have nothing but praise for the bariatric team and the hospital. :)

Hi Lollycakes...I did not have my surgery at UCLH but had there surgeon Mr A Fiennes who "fronts" this whole dept carry out my surgery 9 days ago...He is 1 top surgeon with many ops under his belt which is the TRUE acid test for any surgeon and along with this I have to add which stood out for me was the way "HE CARED".He understands the problems "why" we have this surgery and although only 9 days post op and just starting off on my journey I already feel with his input then and now I'm in good hands....to reach my personal goals..."Hope this helps"

Sorry Mark my mistake.

Thanks for all the replies! I'm glad to hear such great comments from the people that really matter.

You're very welcome. I felt very well looked after all the time from my pre op visits through surgery to post op follow up care. I would recommend UCLH to anyone. Mr Fiennes is a diamond, and the rest of the bariatric team are great too. The only thing I can't comment on there is the food, as I didn't have any for obvious reasons. Good luck, and I hope all goes smoothly for you!
