update after my appointment today

2011 a new begginning
well ive been for my appointment today and im very very pleased with the outcome i seen one of dr theiries team who has agreed and refered me for surgery the bypass! :D
im so so happy i carnt believe it 4 other ppl that i seen all came out with weight management referals which is what i was expecting too but hes agreed that i dont need to that that again nd put me in for surgery iv got my appointment with mr kumar at heartlands hospital on monday 8th november at 2.30 i carnt wait can anyone tell me what i do at this appointment?? i asked how long ill be waiting for surgery as i understand there may be a wait he said 2-3 months i should have my surgery so 2011 will be my year :eek: im so so happy i carnt begin to explain the way im feeling, although slightly nervous :confused:
has anyone had there op done by mr kumar??
can i just say a massive thank you for all ur kind words and support u have shown me and im looking forward to my wls journey knowing u r all by myside

thanks everyone, ive now started my diet i wanna lose as much as i can so im more healthy for my op and also i just wanna try and change my habits now so when i do have my op it aint a massive shock to the system, im not goin on a crash diet like normally though im gonna make sensible choices and jst be more healthy roll on 8th november wanna lose at least half a stone for then.
bubbly ang did dr kumar do ur op? what happened the first time u meet him so i know what to expect? im s happy i carnt believe it!! how long was ur op after u went t see him cus ive benn told 2-3 months but that seems so soon to me?? but thats what he said so we will see xxx
 
hi laura im also under mr kumar at the heartlands have u had ur funding approved yet? ive been on the waiting list since february with the heartlands i have my funding it was approved with another surgeon who was going to do the op in shropshire which is where i live, but he lost the contract for the ops so had to start again at the heartlands...
im on the waiting list and saw mr kumar in april who told me i would be operated on by the end of the year... still havent had a date yet i ring every week.... dont want to ruin any hopes u have but just be warey that it may not happen in such a short time.... hope this makes sence!! do u have to go to the slim classes?? i have ... didnt really help me to be honest as i already no what to do!!

well my journeys been goin on for abot 2 yrs on and off i lost weight by myself 6 stone and couldnt shift any more so i went to gp for help who refered me to the weight management at heartlands (slimming classes) they talked about surgery there but i wasnt intrested to be honest as i was doin well and hadnt ever researched it b4 so said ild carry on the way i was i attended the slim classes for about 3 months then due to personal circumstances i didnt go bk which was a bit naughty well ive had a baby since and put all my weight bk on and more so decided to go to my gp who this time refered me straight for surgery which the surgeons didnt accept as i hadnt seen a weight specialist so got my appointment which i attended 22nd where i seen a dr and he said that as they have on record my weight goin u and down and at the momnet up that i didnt have to do the slimming classes he was refering me straight to surgeon got my appointment 8th november so not long away!! i said i understand theres a big wait at the moment and honestly can u can how long it will look like im waiting and he said cus iv done the weight management slimming classes b4 and most ppl have to attend them for at least 6 months that i shouldnt have much of a wait he said 2-3 months max!!! although im keeping an open mind to that as i wont believe it till i get a date, i dont have funding but he sent of for that at the time too he said that takes 4 wks and if i dont hear after 2 weeks of seeing dr kumar i should ring to find out, im expecting a wait and not getting my hopes up too much but iv started eating more healthy not gonna say a diet as its a change in lifestyle really so im doin that now and gonna get weighed again when i see the surgeon so hopefully iv lost and ill keep losing untill sugery so that should take my mind of the wait for a while (hopefully)

i saw mr kumar in april he said id have my surgery by the end of the year....im still waiting he hasnt filled the funding form and i was told by someone at the bariatric team it wont be this year as he has a very long waiting list so good luck hunni xx

god u sound like a clone of me its awful isnt it gets me so low, hope u hear news soon xx
