Vomiting/hiccoughs

It worries me about vomiting and hiccoughs just after surgery.Do you have to be extra careful?I dread doing either and damaging anything.I know you are on liquid only but if for some reason you vomited could you burst the op sight open?

I had hiccups shortly after surgery. It was really painful. I'm sorry if this scares you but I won't lie. It didn't harm me though!!

Also, being sick, it's not going to be pleasant but it's not going to hurt your wounds. All the stitches/staples are on outsides and so will pull in rather than burst out.

They wouldn't let you out of hospital if they thought it was going to be that risky

Ive vomited once post surgery and that was from the anesthetic - told them I would and despite every anti sickness drug available, I heaved! Dont remember it hurting to be honest. As for hiccoughs - Ive only recently started to get them and whilst they are violent, they dont hurt! I do have little lady burps after food sometimes and quite frankly, they are better out than in - feel better after each burp!
