WILL I NEED HELP????????????????

Hi Karen, remember this is major surgery. I would say you need someone to stay with you for the first week at least if you can, or at least someone on the end of the phone who can come round (even at night) if you need them to. The hospital asked me who would be looking after me at home when I got out. You need to take care because it takes sometime for the anesthesia to wear off. It made me very sick. Maybe you could stay with someone? It's difficult I know, but you probably need someone around. x x

Its not so much that you need physical help but you shouldnt be alone for the first week really - you have the anesthetic to get over + a new eating regime and a three hour op. Maybe someone can come and camp at yours? You wont be able to drive for at least a fortnight either.

i would definately adivse having somone you can call on to help/stay, i had problems bending the first week so needed help picking things up ect plus you will be extremely tired and they can motivate you into drinking as much as possible to help you get yourself into a routine after surgery

I will be having bypass soon and I live alone and have no family living by. will I be able to manage?. any advice from you lovely people out there.
hi how would you feel about exchanging phone nos? i will be in the same situation .xx

I'm going to stay at my Mums for a few days after my op, she's insisting, but tis prob for the best:rolleyes::rolleyes:

Don't worry about it too much. Am sure you'd be fine. I'd have LOVED to be by myself and not being jumped on by toddlers for a few days.

Prepare ahead of time and have the right stuff in, make sure friends or family phone to check on you and don't worry about it too much. We all have to manage the situation we are in and if it isn't an option then don't add to the stress by worrying.

Hugs

Hi Karen, I can only stress that what the other minis have said is for your own safety. If possible please don't be alone untill at the very earliast the 2nd week. Do you have good neighbours that could keep an eye out for you??

Hi there, I know I am a bander but I was told I would not be discharged without having someone at home to keep an eye on me for 48 hours.

Do you have a friend who can come and stay?

i was told the same caz, if i didnt have help then id have to stay in.
