Most surgeons will remove the gall bladder while you are having your Bypass done - ring the hospital you are having the surgery at and ask them what their policy is - ring your consultants secretary etc...while we can generalise, only they can confirm whether they will do both the ops at the same time.

Mr Khan will do any repairs he deems neccessary while you are under and that includes things like Gall Stones, Hernias etc.

Walsall will request a copy of the scan results from your own hospital before they proceed with the operation so don't worry about that.

During my stay on ward 11 I met a few people that had their gall bladders removed at the same time as their operation.

If you are in any doubt about it or need any more information then its always best to ring the clinic and ask Ana or speak to Mr Khans secretary. Both ladies are very nice and will advise you.

Im guessing they would take your gall bladder out at the same time as your bypass - kill two birds with one stone as it were! Horrid things arent they - just stick to a fat free diet until they come out and you wont have any more attacks

Hi Sue, Only just seen this thread hun.

If I were you, I would ring Mr Khans Secretary and ask her advice. See if you could arrange for Mr Khan to ring you, or just ask for confirmation that it can be dealt with at the same time as your surgery xx

Thanks, Sam.
Do you by any chance have a number for his secretary?
How are you, hun? x

Its 01922 656979. I'm doing well WLS wise hun, but got lots of other stuff happening at the minute which Im worried about.
