lovebug

Official Lap Bander !!
Can the people tell me who have already had a Bypass or Band (or if u haven't are 100% sure ) advise me about the following so i can stock up my Mini Chemist at home before Monday:

1) What is the best product for Wind Relief that they have used and works well ?

2) What is the best product for pain they have used and works well?

3) For all the above do i need them in Liquid or Chewable form ?

4) I take a mini pill daily is that ok still to gulp down with a small glass of water?

Cheers ! Just in case eh ! Not sure what is best ... I'm sure the hospital will give me pain relief but i'd like to know for future reference if need be .

Thanks so much !:)

Hiya Livvy

Forum is a bit quiet tonight but I would say there will be someone around either soon tonight or defo tomorrow who will be able to give ya some info... I know there are a few people both pre and post op on here so hold tight and bump up this thread tomorrow if nobody has replied

Good luck with the op

Hi Livvy,

Not sure if this will help, but my nurse specialist told me to go out and stock up on:
1)Syrup of figs (nice, gentle laxative!!)

2)Soluble paracetamol (I got the ones with codeine in, and also some Calpol as I am not good with soluble stuff!)

3)Berocca vitamins (they are in my local sainsbury and tesco) - they are soluble too(groan!)

4) I showed her the tablets I am on (Prozac) which are not huge, but she still said to get my prescription amended to liquid form, so I have done!!

Not sure about the wind relief though or the mini pill, I am sure someone else will be able to give you the benefit of their wisdom soon enough!!

For natural wind relief get yourself some peppermint cordial, or some peppermint tea :D

Hi LIvvy...i had mega problems with trapped wind for the first couple of days & found that gripe water that you get for babies was great at sorting out out :)

It gentle enough for 3 month olds, so its gotta be gentle on a baby tum lol

As for swigging the water i don`t know if its different with the band, i can`t swig anything..its mini sips all the way or it feels like i swallowed a boulder & feel it all the way down
