It has just occurred to me to ask does having a bypass/band effect how much alcohol you can drink?

:party0016:

Apparently you get drunk much quicker so can't drink as much!!!

Yes they do say that you get drunk quicker lol. A cheap night out for your other half now lol. I've never been a drinker so have'nt found out yet. One of the main reasons as why to not consume as much is because of the sugar content of most alchoholic drinks so if you're a bypasser I would think you would dump and a bander would gain weight.

banders dont get drunk quicker, bypassers do x banders can drink as before just be aware that with a band its empty calories x

I was told a little alcohol would go a long way and affect me much quicker? I'm a bander. Perhaps because we have less in our tummies to 'cushion the blow' :)

Its just about being sensible have a small meal an hour or so before then your not drinking on a empty lower stomach and you will be fine, band or no band its common sense and you will still feel the effects as its liquid and will go down we havent been re plumbed like the bypassers so theres no difference with the effect it gives x
