anyone else here with pcos?

Absolutly! they would have at least a week a month off sick!

You are still young so Im sure things will work out for you. Weight loss does increase your chances of conceiving as well as making you healthier :D

Its good that your GP is at least gynea issues aware!

I have had 3 laparoscopies, if you haven't had one before and you need one dont worry about having it. They are not too bad at all xx

lol exactly they winge enough when they have man flue haha.
im hoping to have it done soon as as the months go by im feeling worse and worse :(
wouldnt wish pcos on anyone let alone endo aswel, just my luck. only 23 but feel 80 lol. xx

Hi jess. I conceived with pcos and at 20 stone. Natural delivery and the pregnancy went without a hitch. So it is definitely possible. Post pregnancy my pcos went bananas though lol. Oh was also on the pill at the time as well.

Jess I'm so sorry to hear you could have endo as well! That makes me feel really sad for you:( hey bit there is light at the end of the tunnel. I have 2 very close friends that both had endo & 1 was told she would never be able to have children because it was so bad so had to have the op to remove it, then went on to have if & has a lovely daughter of 2yrs. Then fell pregnant naturally & has a lovey son of 1yr so it is possible. My other friend too has had the op & feel pregnant naturally & has a 2yr old & a 1 yr old so we'll all keep our fingers crossed for you & pray you'll be ok. I've often wondered myself JFK I have endo because the pain I have with my periods is beyond belief! I'm sure it's not normal. But like you said being healthy first is my main priority & it's only going to get better with weightless surgery all round for me so staying positive & hoping one day I shall get there. Keep idling, you've got age in your side at least which is a good thing. Loose the weight, get your pcos sorted & meet a lovely man & you too will find happiness to have children one day. :)) ? x

thanks for your kind words, really touched me. although being a mum is the only thing i want out of life, i have too keep thinking there are people that are alot worse off than i am. and also there are so many postitive stories aout there of women that are told they wont ever concieve and they do, because like iv said the doctors dont know they are not god. they shouldnt be aloud to tell people things like that, its not right.
hopefully soon we can all be healthy and feel better about ourselves. xxx

I have had pcos for over 20 years and I was always led to believe it was my weight that caused the problem ( I know it doesnt help) and now 8 and a bit stone later my pcos is just the same, for years docs sed to me " lose the weight and ur symptoms will start too fade" well I find that ( for me personally) was utter b****cks my symptons are more severe now then they was when I was my heaviest - my monthlys are still no longer monthlys lol, and me hormones are still all over the place and I still have facial hair, no amount of weight loss, drugs etc has ever worked for me - and the last time I saw the endocrine department I asked him if I could have my ovaries removed and be put on hrt to be told that pcos is not a severe enough "problem" for them to warrant it for me , so over 20 years later its a case of put up and shut up for me !!

The girl from sister 2 sister Tia
She has endo. She was able 2 have a baby. Miracles happen everyday. God is a
miracle worker. Im a true believer. Just getting pregnant was a miracle for me. God wanted my little babies for himself. Im not sad. I know God holds the future. I know I will be sharing my successful pregnancy with the group. Along with everyone else on here.

Throwing *confetti* your way !!!

Hi I have PCOS. I concieved after metformin after years of trying (first child accident in 2001 and then couldnt fall pregnant until I went on Metformin and had number 2 in 2007). I have tried it on and off since as it helps me loose weight but I have come off it as I couldnt bear the stomach problems. Even on the slow release I had issues but I should have stuck with it. I went back to my endrocronoligist who put me on the pill (dioanette?) and also vaniqua cream. And it has made an unbelievable difference to my facial hair. I got lazy and just used the pill for a while and not the cream but the hair returned. its a combination treatment. He stressed I must not fall pregnant whilst on this pill as it isnt great to have a mistake on. It took 3 months to notice the results but I went from using tweezers daily, Immac three times a week, to not having to use Immac once a month. I am tempted to try my metformin again to get some weight off as I have to have lost 10lb by July to get on the weighting list, but the thought of it makes me cringe again.
Metformin worked for me for fertility, I hadnt had a period for 5 years and then within 5 months I had regular periods and was pregnant. My endro consultant was happy for me to stay on metformin if I wanted to, but said it was mainly for fertility. I was on a very high dose and you do have to build up to it. Hope this info helps xx

Hello ladies,
I too Have pcos i also have a bicornate uterus (twin womb, or as my mum calls it a womb with a view lol) but i'm left confused after reading your posts as when i was diagnosed at age 16yrs they said i would have great difficulty trying to have a baby and there was a good chance it would never happen however after 3 pregnancys and two healthy little bundels ( 1st baby died due to placental abruption, 30cm blood clot that the doctors missed!) i was under the impression that having babies post surgery was too risky???? the reason i formed this impression was when my G.P was refering me for funding he made me confirm that i was in his word "happy with the family" and was "done with childbearing"! I am happy and can not afford anymore bundels of joy but i seriously thought that once you were bypassed that it was exstreamly risky? so much so i asked the doctor if i could be steralised!!!!!!!!!!! i feel duped into commiting to steralisation now ( xxx Also my surgeon never once mentioned my pcos, i know iv still got it because 2 years ago after my last c-section with my Daughter some trainee doctor nearly killed me by trying to remove a massive cycst whilst i was open on the table (luckily there was an eagle eyed senior surgeron in the room and he screamed at the trainee and told him to get out of the theatre immidetly as he could of killed me! biospy come back clear but again as i say i didn't even see or informed of the relevance between bypass and pcos! p.s I had metformin and made me soooooo sick i couldn't take the tablets anymore (i wasn't trying to concieve at this time either)

As for miricals happen everyday..... I have to miricals That god gave to me but only when he was ready xxx you will find your happiness xx

hey. no iv never been told that it is extrememly dangerous. i know that you have to wait around 12 months before getting preg but thats it. really hope this isnt the case now as i still do want babies just cant with my weight how it is and thats why im having wls. advice ladies that have commented before?? xxx

My consultant said 2 years before trying to conceive. Because your body has to stabilise and you need to me nutritionally more balanced, due to the malabsorption component of bypass surgery.

hmmm something i think i reallly need to look into as i was told 12 month but few different opinions here. and bit worried now it is extremely dangerous even though im told its not u just have to wait. hmm lol xx

Jess don't u worry. It's going 2 happen. I was on metformain and clomid the fertility drug. I did not get pregnant. I stop worrying and started 2 exercise more the first time. The second time, I don't know. I was in a car accident in March 2012. A lady hit me from behind. I went 2 the doctor because my back was hurting. Before they did x-ray they had 2 gave me a p test. It came back positive. To make a long story short. I went 2 the er because I was hurting. They said I was 4 weeks. They said the car accident caused my pain. Ok they also said the baby was ok. A week later I had a miscarriage.

It can happen for u and it will.

Sincerely
Z-1920

There are members here who have had pregnancies post op and have had healthy babies and healthy pregnancies. I imagine it will be classed as high risk though simply because they will need to monitor your nutrition more carefully.

ye this is what im thinking. good to know there are people here who have babies post op. will double check when i see consultant thought. xx

So sorry to hear your story I know only to well how upsetting this I had 7 pregnancies 4 miscarriages 1 ectopic and two lovely sons 1 18years old and 1 8 years old now so keep on trying its worth it in the end.
