I did edit my other post but in case you missed it...would chewable calcium tabs be better for you?

hi slim!!!!!
had my bypass may 13th and hospital gave me chewable calcium called calceos there lovely! abit like a refresher sweet, i also had liquid gaffer syrup(iron) but have only had it a couple of times as it makes me wanna throw up, like you even the thought of its enough. hope this helps and hope someone comes up with an iron alternative for your sake and mine!!!!!

HiBrett, I don't have iron tabs but have calcichew - I have them twice a day, and they come in plain and also lemon flavour. You just chew them up - they are fine. x x x

Calci chew can be chewed or sucked or can if broken up be swallowed can't help with the iron but am sure nic or shell will be along soon to help out.

If the gaffer syrup (ferrous fumerate) isn't going down too well there is one you can buy over the counter (its not available on prescription) called Spatone Spatone 100% natural iron supplement. Suitable for women, men children and pregnant, pregnancy and post natal which they sell in boots. Its easier on the digestive tract than ferrous sulphate tabs (which are enteric coated and often just pass through a post bypass intestine).

As for the calcium, go for calcichew, they are yummy. On prescription.
