thats a shame we would have been just days apart lol....what did you mean about £500 cheaper?

If you have it done at preston its only £5950 - they said its because the hospitals overheads are lower, suits me! more money to spend on ew clothes when I start loosing!

Oh ok its actually £1000 cheaper mine was £6995

Oh right, wow, it was £6450 in sheffield so i assumed it was that everywhere. Would be a long way for you to travel though wouldnt it, being in the midlands for me its just as easy to go north or south!

I thought about it but its loads of travel and also hubby wanted to be with me so would have had hotels and food in with it too...the place Im going is 20 minutes down the road from me so bite the bullet pay the extra and be home 20 minutes after Im discharged rather than a night in a hotel and then the treck back with a very sore tummy lol

I want to add my congratulations too.
I maybe going this way too (funding it myself) please would you mind telling me your experience so far ? what are you asked ect?

Well done again x

Hi - love the name by the way!

Well I did a combination of research via the internet and peoples experiences on here. I decided to go with the WLS Group as not only did they actually send me the brochure (at least 2 companies did not - their loss!) but I also had an email and a couple of personal calls from them to talk me through things.

At the consulation today I was weighed and measured, BMI calculated etc. I also had to take along a completed information and medical history form which the nurse went through, basically:

any previous op's
previous dieting attempts
sleeping problems
brief questions on self esteem etc

She then went through the options ie band, bypass or baloon. No pressure to choose, lots of good advice.

Then finally as I had decided to go for it, we then chose an operation date.

Hope this helps, just ask if you need to know anything else, if i cant help someone else will be able to!

Maz

Hi mazza congrats on your date, i know its a huge step funding it yourself, went and got a loan for mine, i hate loans....

Wont be long now, did you discuss pre-op diet ect?
