good on you for resisting sarah, well done for resisting, this is a very good thread and id also be interested in the answers to the question about what triggers a binge but most importantly how to stop it.

keep up the good work !

So glad you didn't binge. You have done so well with your weight loss. Keep up the good work.

have a piece of fruit have you got any in ?, or pickles i love pickled onions to nibble on fat free as well x

hello julie how are you, im stressed to hell watching the match here, we really need a goal

It is good that you have recognised what your binge triggers are. I use distraction. We often eat to fill a void that should be filled by something else. Try this:

You are bored. If you eat, will that make you any less bored? How will eating actually make you feel?

So, if the answer to the above is 'NO, I will still be bored' and 'I will feel guilty and even more upset for bingeing', then the answer is find something to do that will alleviate the boredom.

The same exercise can be done with all triggers. i.e. If you are stressed, then do something non-edible to alleviate the stress.

Bingeing just continues the cycle and brings on self-loathing etc.

All the very best.

brilliant advice red x

Hi Sarah, well done for resisting. When I feel hungry in that binge kind of way, I think to myself is it tummy hunger or head hunger. Then I wait 15 mins to see what the answer is. I used to go to OA and one of their sayings was HALT. That is, "Don't get too Hungry; Angry; Lonely or Tired.
Obviously now I have had the band as well as my head being in a good space at the moment it is relatively easy to do this.
When I am ill (I have severe Bipolar disorder) this has been impossible. Obviously I'm hoping I won't be ill for a while but the change of habits and the restriction will help a lot.
My trigger foods are Chocolate and bread. Neither of which I eat anymore.

well done for resisting - ur weight loss is good - 8lb of determination!! keep it up xx

keep up that determination sarah that you have had all week, and it be better for your op x
