Bypassers food bills?

candie

fabby not flabby :)
I was wondering if you bypassers have noticed a massive reduction in food bills, now you're not eating junk and convenience stuff:D:D
It'd be an added bonus if my food money could become new clothes money:8855::8855:

Yes, I spend far less on food. I rarely buy food out, as I know I won't eat most of it so it's just a waste! I'm learning to cook less at meal times, as I was still cooking for 3, but I have a freezer full of leftovers in foil trays lol.

Oh that's ace Shel, and as I live alone I will really save money.I'll never stop shopping for clothes:8855::8855:

At first (2-4 weeks) I actually spent more on food since low-fat seems to cost more but I found that I let things go to waste because I did not eat them fast enough! Now I know better how much and what variety to buy so I have saved with my shopping (about £15/week on average). It is a lesson I learned fast. I thought I needed a wide variety of items to make me happy but it turns out that I like to eat the same things everyday whic was not true pre-op.

Aye you learn a whole different way of cooking and shopping as you go along. Tonight for example I'm doing jacket potatoes for everyone (we have 3 extra mouths here at the moment) so I'm cooking 8 (otherwise they'd go iffy in the cupboard) and as I know I'll only manage half or less of one we'll have cooked jackets in the fridge which will only need a ping through in the microwave for later in the week :) Saves having the oven on twice too. My lord i got frugal. Actually, thats nothing to do with the bypass is it lol, more to do with frugality. Which is irrelevant. So just ignore me :D

I can relate to Phatgirls comments, I was spending more at first, wasted a lot trying to find things I liked and could eat. My expenditure has greatly reduced now though. I still refuse to buy any new clothes and wont consider it until May at the earliest. Have finally been able to bin my rather dingy grey comfy bras and now wearing some lovely ones that never saw the light of day on the way up the fat ladder....its like having loads of new clothes already.....and its quite exciting,,,xx

yep my shopping bills have gone down and even eating out as invariably portions are always too big so if say my sister and i are out we get one meal with an extra side salad and share. I have had to start bying clothes as i have been so big for so long i dont have a varing size wardrobe. the one thing i would advise anyone apart from you fellas to do is get measured for bras regularly. I cant buy any for less than £36 due to my cup size HH but good foundation wear is the key to feeling and looking good. I have also had a couple of friends give me some hand me downs as they have lost weight. so they will come in useful when i get to that size.
