hi all i really fancy cucumber but not sure what stage i can eat it in batons anyone know ??
im on week 6 post op
feeling great ive lost 54 pounds :553:
struggling with food alittle but im ok this is the best thing ive ever done.

Hi Kerry,

So positive and uplifting to hear from you and well done, I don't have the answer re the cucumber, but I would love to send you my very best wishes and a loving hug... keep positive and keep in touch xxx

when you do get to eat your cucumber, if you peel the skin off, it wont repeat on you, i had to stop eating cucumber a few years ago cos it repeated on me terribly, then someone gave me that tip, and it worked, great cos i can now enjoy it again. hugs xx

I would have thought that minus the skin it would be ok as long as you chew, chew, chew as cue is mainly water anyway. Sorry not sure wot ur provider has advised you too do .....if in doubt call em just to be sure xx

I ate cucumber 4 weeks post op, but it was diced up quite small with a nicer dicer.

I think the trick is try it and see as long as you are allowed hard feed now you wont know until you have tried it.

Saying that our providers did encourage us to eat quite early on, not all of them are like that.

what a fab loss! well done, i would agree with some of the advice you have had, its trial and error now with food, some things are fine one day and a problem the next, others will be a no go completely when you find you just dont get on with them,
good luck with trying
xxxx

think i may try some next week.
any lunch ideas im eating the same things which i dont want to get bored.
its so strange that beffore i had op i never thought about meals i just did them now every meal has to be thought out and its trying to think of new ideas

i really fancy something i can use with dips.
zns i never seen a dietician reason im struggling abit as to what i can have

I'd try it without the skin first time out! And as everyone else said, chew chew chew xx

I didn't trust myself with salads until 3 months out, but if you chew the batons really well you will probably be OK in a week or 2. xx

I've been told 12 weeks minimum before any raw vegetables. I was very naughty and tried some tiny pieces of raw pepper a couple of weeks ago. It absolutely crippled me.
So as bored as I am, I'm sticking to the rules!

I suddenly remembered savoury pancakes or crepes today. They could be filled with cheese, soft chicken, tuna, salmon...tinned ham...roasted veg...mild chilli....ratatouille...... The ideas are endless.:)

What about trying one of those for lunch?

I'm going to try some this week.

I love fajitas, so I may try to make a varaition on a chicken fajita with them.

providing your dieticians say ok just remove skin and chew to a puree, then its no different to any other puree you get to eat - with the added benefit of it being lovely and juicy

raw peppers are very fiberous so still going to be difficult no matter how much you chew, esp if with any skin on
