I have never had one do I really need one for hospital?

I hate being too hot..i have jammies and slippers long night shirts ect...but I do not want to buy one for the sake of it if I do not need one

I didn't need mine (although I took it with me). I was in hospital gowns initially and then had a shower (WONDERFUL!) and got dressed.

I wouldn't invest in one - as, even if you do, it will soon be TOO BIG for you!

how about some sort of poncho or something? can always wrap a towel round you to get to and from the shower .... I am not a PJ or nightie person, so I can sympathise... x

Took one and never used it, hospitals are to hot and your in your own room, walking to theatre could be a bit tricky lol, ask for another gown to put round you, good luck:)

Do you have a throw/blanket you can wrap round you or even a long cardi if you don't like dressing gowns ( I love my dressing gown)

I bought one and it was vital to walk down to theatre in. I would have been exposing my A*** to the whole of Musgrove Park if I didn't have one as the gown was gaping open at the back. Sx

I didn't bother just took a hoodie which I didn't need as it was hot. They give you a 2nd gown to put on backwards so you don,t expose yourself. I was wheeled to theatre so didn't have to worry:D

I was told not to buy one because they'd just put another gown on backwards for the walk to theatre.

My gown went round me twice, so I was well covered for the walk to the table. No mooning from me! I took a robe which was quite useful for my much walking up and down the ward corridor, dragging my drip stand with me (helps to get the wind moving). But I could have done without it, as it was 30 degrees when I had my op five weeks ago. I took a nightie which I wore at night, and spent the days in pj bottoms, bra and vest top.

My gown was huge too. Quite the novelty at 21 stone :)

Yes Victoria. I agree. Seems I was one of their smaller clients. ;-)

As I was going under on the table I heard someone say they'd have to get me a smaller BP cuff. Felt good x

Snap - did exactly the same, took it with me, unpacked it, repacked it, took it home. In fact I did that with quite a few things I took with me. Once out of their gown I wore a t-shirt and "lounge pants" and wandered around in them.

AE.

actually, I have a few cloaks - I might take one of those with me... possibly not the black one with the huge over hanging hood - it is a hospital and I don't want to freak out any of the patients lol
