Simple answer yes....
I am still getting used to cooking for one and a half....instead of four and a half...
I find it really hard to judge sometimes on quantity but I use the same dishes for my meals, and only ever have what I can fit on those. One is a bowl for breakfast or soups etc and one is a 7inch side plate.
Maybe you could try this too..it does help me control the actual amount I eat, even if I have cooked too much.
Another way I thought could help is imagine a normal sized portion but only serve half...take a while to eat it as we are supposed too...and then see how hungry we are afterwards...
I know I am struggling a bit but it's on 20 days till my friend Fill comes over...![]()
I am not a bander but I too think I can manage more than I actually can. Last night I served myself salad & chilli. I was able to eat most of the salad but only about half the chilli. I had to decide which one I wanted more of & I went with the chilli since I needed the protein. I find that what I think I can eat and what I do eat are different lately. I think there is a strong learning curve when it comes to portion size, especially when what you are eating contains starch (beans in my chilli, your fries) because of the expansion after you eat that food.
Just wanted you to known you aren't alone!
As a bander though, you have to chew the food really well or you might end up with a blockage....and believe me, I am going to be avoiding that.
Remember the mantra...
Chew, chew, chew and more chew, this is what a bander has to do....
I had a moment the other day, the first one and it was with a banana.
I wont to make sure that i steer well clear of any discomfort so i will do everything i can to eat right.
