Finally Referred to Tier 4 at Luton and Dunstable!!!

Hi!!!
I imagine that's how my appointment on the 21st with the Anaesthetist is going to go. I wonder when I will get my MDT appointment then.... I suppose I'll have to wait and see.
What is slimming world like? I've been wanting to join, but the group closest to me has meetings midweek at 12pm which is so not convenient.
 
I had my mdt on sat. I don't have to do the horrid milk diet as I have ibs and will do a low carb diet 2 weeks before surgery.
It seems like we have all had different experiences and I have been on the 1500 eating plan since Jan 2015.
I am opting for the sleeve.
How do you all feel about the change in eating habits as that really scares me. I so want to be thin but never eating like i use to scares me. I am shocked they don't offer therapy as they can't change my head!

Hi all!!

Thank you for the messages. The appointment went amazing!!!
I saw the consultant Anaesthetist who was soooo lovely. He looked at my bloods and my ECG, asked about my conditions, what medication I was on, weighed me, took my BP and was happy that all my conditions are well controlled and is putting me forward for surgery!!!!
He didn't understand why it had taken so long for me to be referred to tier 4 in the first place... 18 months!!! :mad:
Anyway... The only thing is, he wants me to be assessed for sleep apnoea at the sleep studies clinic at L&D before going any further. Once this is ruled out then we can move forward with surgery. Fingers crossed I DON'T have sleep apnoea, but we'll see....
I'm hoping the process wont take very long. I'll keep you updated! :D:D:D

I did the sleep apnea thing too so hopefully will shave off some time yay, I'm glad it went well ?? will have to keep us up to date xx

How long did it take for you to get your appointment with the sleep apnoea clinic? I'm hoping it's not too long as I'd like to get that out the way asap! :D

Not long at all was all quiet fast I had the test done within 5/6 weeks and results a few weeks after that xx
 
Lol I saw that doctor but didnt realise he was the anaes.... tist (?) lol x
 
FFS MDT appointment booked for 27th June!!! OMG that seems like forever away!! Fingers crossed there are some cancellations :(

OMG Sam no ooooooooooooo that seems ages away dread to think when mine will be when I get there my appointment with doc not till April however I'm gonna call every week for a canx appointment good luck with yours tho, did you see Dr hasslem what's he like ????

I know!! The service is really busy at the moment apparently. I know a consultant Gynaecologist who works at L&D (I tried to pull in a favour... Shameless I know lol) but even she couldn't help!
I did call today and got a slightly earlier appointment - 26th May :)
Will keep calling to check for cancellations.
- I can't for the life of me remember the name of the Dr I saw but I don't think it was Dr. Hasslem

I'm OK thank you God it's not looking good for me kinda want to call them up and book an mdt just in case lol but I dought they would do that, I've looked him up and he's a gp obesity specialist I don't quiet know what is going on so far I've been told this Dr mdt surgeon but I have a feeling if I get it done by Christmas I'll be lucky how ever mo was given end of month after anistnatist this month I think so that was good keep telling my self it's not long really but feels an age I can imagine your chomping at the bitt, have they told you keep all weight off you've lost its a kind of a test I've been told wink wink xxxx

Hi Hun!

It's been ages! How are you getting on?? Almost at the finish line I hope. I can can kinda see the light at the end of the tunnel now. Seeing surgeon and anaesthetist on the 30th Sept and if all goes well I'm hoping I will have my op before the new year!
What's been going with you? I hope all is well xx
