First Post- have my date for June!!

First week of diet and then pre-op/LSD. Down about 7lbs so far- only 10 days to op now! Not a lot of energy though on circa. 900 cals a day. Time is slipping away quickly. Away on business this week so will have to buy some shakes after flying down south to have at the hotel for lunch/dinner/breakfast Thanks to all for the encouragement.

Wow 7lbs that awesome well done best of luck :)

Week to go now.

Working away on business this week was difficult, as I was flying down South and staying, I had to find a Tesco's that sold pre-made shakes before heading off to the meeting venue. As it was a team meeting had to socialise at tea breaks and at dinner but managed to get away with only having a chicken breast! Managed it all OK but glad I am not travelling for a while.

Lost another couple of pounds this week but will wait until Monday to weigh myself properly.

Hope everyone else having an op this month is doing OK with their LSD.

Congrats welcome to the bench interesting how ???

Hi all- feels a bit like gastric flu at this time. Stomach is delicate have managed some slim fast and tomato soup today. Still swollen and a bit tender to touch. The five holes are healing well and will be changing the dressings for the last time tomorrow. Have been sleeping a bit today but trying to regularise sleep tonight as indid not sleep much at hospital.

Day 8 post-op and all is settling down really well!

Weight loss has started to slow down (2-3lbs a day was unsustainable) and I am feeling like having more soups/liquid. Have started to experiment and had a Heinz Chicken Soup with Thai Spices- the taste was great!! Best thing I have had in over two weeks.

Have also tried some WW Carrot & Lentil- it had some bits but I seem to have managed this ok as well.

Fluids/water is OK with about 2ltrs plus a day. Have had to get a selection of NAS squashes as I finally got fed up with Apple & Blackcurrent.

The bruising around the laparscopic holes (5) is slowly fading and the shaved bits on my stomach are regrowing.

Hope all other June oppers are doing great as well

Had my first bowl of porridge tonight. Not as good as I thought it would be. Maybe the weetabix tomorrow may be better.

Anything that has a bit of substance will be good......

I found ready brek good more smoother than porridge

What op did you have, Scotsman?

Sounds like you're doing really well. You must feel so good regaining control. Well done you!

Had the sleeve on 26th June.

Went into Edinburgh shopping today and then went out for lunch with my wife. Only could manage 2/3rds of a bowl of soup but it was my first meal out!! I am now officially a cheap date with my soup and glass of water :) meal cost under £20 rather than the £35ish that it used to be.

Weight has been steady last few days but I presume this is the 203 week plateau other posters have mentioned. I am still only on about 1000 calories a day so it will start moving again soon.

Wow how you doing that many calories im 12 weeks out and most I managed yet is 612 calories but your doing fab keep it up

Hi again- was out at Ikea shopping with wife and daughter today. So went for lunch at the restaurant and I did nit wasn't the soup so I had the kids meatballs (5) with mash and gravy.

I only managed about 3 mashed up meatballs and some of the mash and that was it!

When I used to go to Ikea I could manage 15 meatballs, bowl of chips, 2-3 diet colas and then have an ice-cream on the way out.

Changed days (for the better) :)

Hi- weekly post here.

Been a busy week- was out and about on Saturday and Sunday at the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow. Was at the morning/lunchtime Rugby 7's then had to walk 4-5 miles into the city afterwords as public transport was backlogged.

Felt good to walk that distance and did not even feel tired. Even just losing nearly 40lbs made a big difference.

Anyway I have moved on to solid(ish) food- had chicken twice at the weekend and am now having a chicken salad for lunch. It is only a chicken breast, plum tomato and some lettuce & spring onions with a bit of sweet chilli sauce to taste but it is excellent- still I ate all the chicken but not all the salad but thats OK.

Joined the local health club and have been swimming twice this week already to try and tone up before I get loose skin! Move on to the cardio/weights next week.

I must admit this is all going better than i thought - however must remember to chew and eat slowly to avoid food backing up.

Hope everyone else is doing well and good luck to those having the op over the summer.
