First post here, but energised by reading everyones positive views.
My BMI is currently 44 and I asked my doctor to be referred for WLS and he said my BMI needed to be over 50, or around 40 and have other complications such as diabetes etc. I was devestated, and enquired about private funding but I just cant afford this option. I have even considered selling my home.
After reading posts on here, and seeing the NICE guidelines, I dont feel I have been given the correct information, so I am going to go back to my doctor and demand a refferal.
Any advice??
I suffer back pain, im on anti depressants as the weight issue as made me agrophobic, and I have stress incontinence. My doctor is not very understanding at all with my weight issue, and puts anything I go to him for down to my obesity which puts me off going. If I have headaches, its the obesity, heavy bleeding its the obesity. I am fed up with it.
My sister is anorexic and gets every kind of help possible thrown at her!!
Rant over. Wish me luck and any advice would be greatly appreciated.
