Fizzy drinks

Hi. Will be meeting surgeon in a few weeks but before then can someone explain why I won't be able to drink anything fizzy after op - seen posts about it but just need the ins and outs. Thanks all

I was told fizzy drinks bloat your stomach/stretch it. I'm having the band and for me having a stomach the size of an egg I will not want to stretch it and risk having a big one again!,
