Hi all ,
I have been struggling with weight for sometime now and I also have pcos which makes it difficult to loss weight. I was been turned down by my Pct and now I have decided to go private. I will be having my surgery in June at Dolan park (surgicare) by Dr PAul super. I will be pleased if you banders help me through this journey and give me some few tips as I know it is not an easy journey.I will be starting my liquid diet on Monday and I can't weight for the weight to start dropping off. I will appreciate ur support and and tips especially from those who suffer from PCOS.

Best of luck. Mr super I'd my op at Dolan park almost two years ago. Best thing I ever did was make the decision to have a band as I am 11 stones lighter. Someone should be along soon who can gelp you with the pcos :)

Thanks Michelle, what a great weight loss u have. I am hoping to loss as much as I can. So how was your journey to ur weight loss success? I am a party girl and I will like to know if having the band affects your lifestyle especially having even a sip of alcohol.

I have always been an eater rather than a drinker ... And still am to be honest. I do enjoy my food and eat out probably 3-4 times a week so I cannot say that the band has got in the way of socialising. I do make wiser food choices though than pre-band and cannot eat the bulk I used to eat ... So its more about chosing quality rather than quantity. I do have the odd drink ... Usually champagne or wine ... But no more than a couple of glasses one or twice a month. I am not anti booze ... It's just my preference not to overindulge. I have not cut anything out of my diet, i eat all things but in moderation. What I would say has helped me most is tracking what I eat so I know I have made wise choices, rather than thinking I have and that not being the reality  I also tended to plan my food ahead for most of the day. I do still do that half the time, but now I am maintaining, I am making the effort to become a bit more relaxed about things generally. You will find what works best for you too :)

That sounds really nice. I can see ur band is working well. This is an encouragement for me as I have been thinking a lot these past few weeks about the surgery,if its going to affect my lifestyle especially hanging out with friends. Thanks ones more

Hello Pauladerm, just read your thread, I too have PCOS, I have never really considered it a big issue in my weight gain tbh, although I suppose it must have had some effect having read articles about it. I think my weight problems are nothing more than being an emotional, comfort eater, and quite frankly bad habit. Prefering far too much of all the wrong foods! I have been able to lose weight many times in the past, but always put in back on and more besides. My band hopefully will be my ticket to losing the weight, but more importantly keeping it off. How are you getting on with your weight lose journey since your op, hope all is well with you. I also had my surgery at Dolan Park with Mr Super.
