Gastric Bypass Daily Menus

a tangerine and an apple
2 fromage frais
shish kebab with salad
beef stew
packet of crisps
toasted tea cake

Hi all,

I have found that I am really neglecting to update this thread... I always keep an honest food diary at home, its just getting on here and updating it for everyone to see - and comment on!

However, last week I weighed in with a 2lb GAIN!!! Although I am not too worried as I realise it could be a simple case of water retention - it has given me a wake-up call regarding some of the bad habits I have been slipping into!

I am eating around 700-900 Kcal per day, so I don't think I have much of an issue there; however I noticed looking over the past few weeks how my snacking and slight reliance on carbs (majority of which was Seeded toast or potato) has creaped back into my diet on a regular basis!

As a result of this I am hopefully going to keep updating my food diary in the hopes I can see where I am going 'wrong' other people can comment and help me along.

I am also going to make some improvements to my diet in other ways. I am going to:
- ensure I have a Protein based breakfast (where possible) - I find that if I have toast, I have increased hunger for the rest of the day.
- have a food plan - so that I know what I am having during the week to reduce impulse meals and naughty snacking.
- try and introduce new foods (especially the ones I have always avoided pre-ops - focusing on veg and protein).

Any and all comments on my posts and daily diet are welcomed greatly!

Steph x

PS - just so I don't offend anyone - when I mentioned snacking I was talking more about unhealthy and unplanned snacking, as opposed to good protein/veg based healthy planned snacks. I think snacking can help some people in some diets, however, for me I do not do this in the appropriate way and as such it has become a 'bad habit' as opposed to a 'good habit'.
