Gurgling Guts

Hi Peeps,
I suspect there is no real answer to this question, but does anyone have a way to reduce the noise of gurgling bypass post-op tummy?

This hasn't been a problem up to now, but I find it quite a distraction now when having a cosy cuddle on the sofa. It's quite a scene stealer when both parties are falling about laughing

I have the same problem and I don't know if there's an answer to it...however, if the gurgling does not phase the person you're cuddling and they continue to cuddle you in spite of said gurgling...I would say they're a keeper!

It's quite difficult whispering sweet nothings while being deafened.

It does make it tricky keeping the wls secret for very long.

Just say it's the beast within growling with unfettered masculine appreciation for her feminine charms or something....worth a try!!!...If she still wants cuddles after a statement like that you're home free....or is it born free??....lol I dunno!

Is it worse after eating/drinking anything special John? My tummy gurgles terribly after eating or drinking anything sweet so I know if I want to keep it quiet, then I just eat savoury meals. Oooh, and get you!

Mine used to do it loads, then it stopped and I missed it, used to feel a bit like my Polly pouch was chatting to me (no, Im NOT insane...oh ok, I am lol) and then recently she has started to be really noisy again.
If it doesnt seem to be a certain food or drink that makes it happen then there is no real way to prevent it.
I would personally just tell them about the surgery, if they are going to become a fixture in your life I am sure that they would like to think that you were honest with them, besides, surely seeing you go to surgeon check ups and taking your post op meds and getting the bloods checked will make them curious, surely its just easier to be open with them, after all, your surgery isnt something to be ashamed about and if they think it is then they dont deserve to have you!

Mine gurgles just as soon as I start to eat something, it's quite funny really. I think the food is displacing the air as it makes me do little mini burps too lol

I agree Steph, I have told my new friends about the wls on the first meeting if not before. It has generally been accepted and is quite a talking point. I've only had one negative reaction and I suspect it wouldn't have worked even if I hadn't had wls.

Yes, mine is not fussy, solids or liquids it gurgles soon after starting to eat. Mini burps too.

yes!!!!!!!! I've got the rumbles something terrible, had it for 8 weeks now and it is accompanied by terrible diarrhoea.
I've had loads of tests done and all neg, so i am now being treated for irritable bowel.
hospital said it could be that i have lost so much weight so quickly the fat that was laying across my stomach is not there anymore and has sent my bowel into spasm.
