It to have a blood test for H Pylori tomorrow as part of my pre op work up hadn't heard of this before it's the biggest cause of stomach ulcers, apparently it's treatable with a combination course of antibiotics and an antacid. Don't know if this will effect my surgery, just have to wait for the results of the test.

standard to have the test, if it shows positive i believe you just get given a course of anti biotics. shouldnt effect your op date, when is that? dont worry it will be fine.

Haven't got op date yet got letter from surgeons following multi professional meeting which was a recap of the meeting and things I have to do such as the blood test and spirometry bi confuse by letter as was expecting to be told that they were putting me on the waiting list......

I had a pre-emptive course of anti-biotics for h-pyroli as I had a bit of gastritis. It was only a week and I had no problems with the op.

i rang surgeons secretary to find out when i would go on the list. after my team meeting my letter told me i had been referred to psychologist before we could proceed. that was done a week later and then i hadnt heard anything so rang mr clarkes secretary, she is very nice. told me she had just done a letter re- waiting list but was happy to confirm that i was on the list and the wait was about 18weeks. (in theory)
