Help what are the stages to the operation

Hi I had my first appointment yesterday since dr hartland at Walsall manor put me forward for surgery I seen the pre op dietician who gave me a target to loose but what happens now does can anyone tell me the process in which things are done and who else I have to see
I have been given a appointment in June to see the pycologist and then another one in July to see the weight management team but so much info yesterday didn't take it all in any help would be appreciated thanks

Dietician, possibly psychiatry, maybe surgeon again and then MDT. Depends if you meet their weight loss requirement and if they feel you are a suitable candidate. If you use the search bar at the top of the forum and type the hospital name in you'll get a bunch of threads, usually best to read through some of those as every hospital is different. X

The first visit is loaded with information. You should see the diatition, the specialist nurse, possibly the surgeon or one of his team. You would also have to fill in a psychological assessment questionnaire, you should also have been given three booklets on each surgery available at the Manor.
The seminar would be more beneficial closer to the surgery date as it is information needed just before and after the surgery. They tell you that you must attend the session or you are not considered for surgery. I thought this a bit strong at the time the way it was said to me.
The most important thing at the start is reaching the target weight which is normally to loose a stone. Only then will you be able to see the psychologist, Mr Kendrick, who will, all being well, pass you as fit for surgery. Three months later you will see the surgeon and will sign all the consent forms and then you will see Mr Youssef, the anesthetist who gives the final decision on the surgery. Oh I forgot before you see Mr Youssef, a week before you have your pre op assessment. That's about it you still get no idea of when you're surgery will be. That's where I am now in limbo not knowing.
