I have been invited for a drink with friends i am 3 weeks post bypass and was wondering what if any alcoholic drink i can have as im not a spirit person would half a larger or a small glass of wine be ok or should i stay on orange juice thanks
I wouldn't have anyalcohol at 3 weeks and I would be very careful with fruit juice in pubs as you can't be sure that it doesn't have added sugar. Do they do tea or coffee or may be stick to water.
You can have diluted juice as long as its no more than 200mls actual proper fruit juice. You can also have squash they usually have cordials. Or Ive been told lots of ice and some limes in water is nice.
Doesnt have to be sugar free if its very diluted, of course its better long term to have no sugar but its not the end of the world to have some, infact you need to have some sugars. I forgot to add 'very dilute' to the post.
I would avoid alcohol so soon post-op. I found dilute apple juice ok in a pub. (diluted 50/50 with water and lots of ice.)
or just water with slices of lemon, orange and lime is nice. Remember to order still water!
