Hello there!!
Welcome aboard hun xxx

We all take in similar stuff whatever our ops I think.
There's a post here
http://www.wlsurgery.com/wls-banders/135945-banders-hospital-bag-night-hosp.html
with a couple of our pre-op and newly banded ladies with excellent ideas and also I'm sure Tam won't mind me directing you to her diary as she is literally just out of surgery and has written a fantastic account of how it was for her and what she used etc.

I did take my laptop and it was lovely to say goodnight to my kids on webcam (I was in the night before for op early next day)
Afterwards I didn't feel too up to using it...
You might find you just sleep or watch telly more than anything.
Maybe a DS or some magazines would be better for just after x

The banders area is here for specific queries

but everyone on site is very friendly and helpful and I hope you enjoy being a part of the forum

Hope this helps x

Hi, I had mine done at the hospital group, different surgeon though. I was patient 8 out of 10, so I had a 6 hour wait in my room. Boring!!
The nurses were all lovely and I didn't feel nervous, which is weird for me, cause I get nervous going to the doctor!
I didn't find it particularly painfull. Just a bit tender and wind pains over the following days. So don't worry about that side of things.
Take cotton pants or you will have to wear awful paper pants like I did! Take some drinks and snacks for your partner, you might be waiting around a while. Try not to give them evils when you see them drinking!
Iam 6 weeks post op today and have lost 25lb so far, I feel great!
Good luck and I look forward to hearing all about it! xxxx

thats made me feel loads better thanks Karen. Im meeting my Surgeon today then tomorrow im getting picked up at 4:30am. Ive got my reading mags and mp3 player. this is prob the last message before my op. Im getting excited now too xx

Good luck for tomorrow, not that you will need it, I wish you a speedy and pain free recovery xx

Good Luck!! x
