I'm a Carer in a dementia unit and use hoists/stand aids frequently. I also do a lot of heavy lifting. In getting a bypass so how long should I expect to be off work?

Thanks

At least 6, everyone is different, so it maybe more. I work in a stroke unit(LOTS of moving and handling), and was off for 11 weeks. I could have gone back at 8 weeks relatively comfortably. But I decided to take a little more to ensure I was 100% ready (I didn't fancy struggling). I had the luxury of being paid, and having my managers support.

I would say at least 6-12 weeks. I work as a physio with heavy stroke patients, I was off for 12 weeks, then went back on light duties for another month after that.

I was wondering the same, Good luck to you
