Im asking cos I never really took much notice of how much I spent on my weekly trips to the supermarket, and this month I decided to write down how much I spend.

Well, OH MY GOD!!!

My total was about 2,250 pounds!!!

I was shocked!!

Theres me, my husband, my 2 kids both 2 years old, and the 2 live-in housemaids.

Is this a normal amount? Seems like a lot of money for food and pampers!!!

How much do you spend, and how many adults, kids, pets??

Really interested!

I dont earn that amonth you spend in a month what I earn in 3 lol wow I would die if I spent that much in the supermarket

Mine is £260 a month thats for me, Pete and sarah

some months its less depends on buying toiletries loo rolls and washing machine stuff

Oh my goodness, im scared now!!

I didnt realise I was spending so much. But maybe theres a difference in the prices here (im living abroad)!!

Where abroad are you?

We spent around £75 - £100 a week for 3 adults + a huge dog + 3 cats....its now less since I had surgery but we do shop in Waitrose and I don't buy many ready meals and cook from fresh. It varies due to toiletries and washing powder etc we don't smoke and only hubby drinks and then its only a couple of beers at the weekend or some wine.

Im in Abu Dhabi.

You know what I think the problem is, I buy the brands which are shipped over from the uk daily, like bread and veg and yogurts etc. Those are more expensive cos im paying for them to be put on special refrigerated ships!

But the local fruit and veg here has a really bland taste, I buy stuff from uk, holland, usa etc cos the kids eat it all.
I never buy any ready meals!

Hard to say, but at a guess about £250. Just me and my daughter.
I shop for fresh fruit and veg couple times a week.

it varies but I would say in the region of £500 - £600 a month for 2 adults, 2 kids, a cat and a dog. That does include toiletries and cleaning products though.

by not eating ready meals I meant that its often more expensive to cook from fresh...as thats what we both do its bound to push the price up :(

On a normal month 2adults 2 boys 12 and 13 about 4 to five hundred pounds but thats everything. If i were you i would start buying local products it is surprising how much you can save i know i have done it you do get used to the taste after a while oh forgot Barney jack russell.

i spend between £60-£75 a week, theres me my oh and my 8 year old son, i do look for the bargains each week and this weeks best buy i have found is muller light yoghurts @ 20p each in asda.:)

going to the local market can cut costs alot for fruit & veg and its much fresher as well.

We spend £300 - £400 per month. 2 dogs ( one small, one large) 1 20 year old son (olympic eater - can he get any taller?) and Hubby and I. Food bill has gone down since surgery.

Where is Abu Dhabi?

Flipping hec.. what's the point in being in a tax haven if you have to spend £2K on marmite. Sharbar..let me know what you need and I'll ship it to you for half the price.

Think we are around the £100 a week mark for 2 adults and 2 small children.

I would say that me and my hubby spend about £160/month on food & household supplies. It used to be more like £300, what with all the take-away and snack foods I used to buy.

We spend about £80 a week for me my OH and daughter. Also for 3 dogs, 4 cats, 2 rabbits, tropical fish and goldfish!

Dont think my weekly shop will go down too much but I wont be buying so much food at work anymore. We have a deli bar and restaraunt :D

i spend around 100-150 per month in the supermarket, i make most of my savings since WLS on not buying food at work or losds of coffee's
